Render tracks the amount of network traffic sent from your workspace's services to destinations outside of Render. This traffic counts as **outbound bandwidth** usage.

- Each month, your workspace receives an [included amount](/content/docs/outbound-bandwidth#monthly-included-bandwidth/index.html) of outbound bandwidth based on its plan.
- If your workspace exceeds this amount, Render bills you for each additional GB of bandwidth used:
  - **$0.15 per GB** for traffic sent over the public internet
  - **$0.03 per GB** for traffic sent over a [private link connection](/content/docs/private-link/index.html)

- Unused bandwidth does not roll over to the next month.

## Billed traffic

All outbound traffic from Render services to the public internet is billed as outbound bandwidth usage.

## FAQ

###### What happens if I exceed my monthly included amount of outbound bandwidth?

- **If you've linked a payment method,** Render bills you for each additional GB of bandwidth (see the [pricing page](/content/pricing/index.html)).
  - Unused bandwidth does not roll over to the next billing period.
- **Otherwise,** Render spins down your workspace's services until the start of the next month.

- View an individual service's recent usage from its **Metrics** page in the [Render Dashboard](https://dashboard.render.com/).
