## PostgreSQL 12 moved to legacy support

Render has moved PostgreSQL version 12 to legacy support ahead of its [end-of-life](https://www.postgresql.org/support/versioning/) on November 14.

Starting today, you cannot create new managed PostgreSQL 12 databases in your workspace unless you already have one.

We strongly recommend upgrading any PostgreSQL 12 databases to an actively supported version to continue receiving important security updates. Render supports [in-place upgrades to PostgreSQL 16](https://docs.render.com/postgresql-upgrading) from any previous version.
